MD MS PhD
Dr Debora Sanches-Pinto is an internationally recognised leader in advanced wound care and burn management, and a distinguished plastic surgeon whose expertise spans clinical practice, research, and global collaboration.
She is the President and Founder of the Sociedade Brasileira de Tratamento Avancado de Feridas (SOBRATAFE) and Chief Executive Officer of CETRAFE - the Center of Wound Treatment. A key opinion leader in emerging wound healing technologies, she plays an active role in shaping innovation and best practice in the field worldwide.
Dr Sanches-Pinto is a member of the Scientific Committee of the World Union of Wound Healing Societies (WUWHS) for the 2024-2028 term and is a member of the Brazilian Society of Plastic Surgery. She works within the Plastic Surgery and Burns Division at the Hospital das Clinicas da Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de Sao Paulo (FMUSP), one of Latin America's leading academic medical centres.
Her academic background includes a Master's degree in Plastic Surgery, a PhD in Health Sciences from FMUSP, an MBA in Health Management from Fundacao Getulio Vargas (FGV), and advanced training in hospital administration through PROHASA-FMUSP.
She is an active contributor to the international wound care and burn community through engagement with leading organisations, including the American Association on Wound Care (AAWC), Wound Healing Society (WHS), European Wound Management Association (EWMA), European Burn Association (EBA), Federacion Ibero Latinoamericana de Quemaduras (FELAQ), Sociedade Brasileira de Queimaduras as a founding member, and the International Society for Burn Injuries (ISBI).
Dr Sanches-Pinto continues to be a driving force in advancing wound care globally, with a strong presence across South America, Europe, and North America, contributing to education, research, and international collaboration in her field.
